About Julie

Hello there, the name's Julie and, contrary to first impressions, I don't wrap myself up in flags on a regular basis.

I'm 26, I'm from Leeds, I'm a redhead, I'm married with two wonderful little boys and, according to the photo on your left, I'm probably the nuttiest person in the world, but I don't care.

I have one sister, Sarah, and one brother, James, both of whom I adore so much. My other sister, Debbie, died in 2002 aged just 17 and the thought of losing my other two siblings scares the living daylights out of  me. We may have our differences but I still love and adore them so much.

Despite the fact I'm covering myself up with a German flag in my photo, which was actually taken whilst in Düsseldorf a couple of years ago, I actually support the Netherlands in virtually every sport, though mainly football, and don't mind being seeing in public wearing something that's bright orange.

Besides the Netherlands, which I love (I'd move to Amsterdam if I could), I also support Everton FC and Leeds Rhinos. I'm a season ticket holder at the latter and I can't see myself doing anything other than shouting at Ryan Bailey when he throws punches and/or paddies on a regular basis. I love the Rhinos and they do my head in at times but I wouldn't have it any other way.

As you may have noticed on both this blog and my Twitter, for those who follow me, I'm a massive Eurovision Song Contest obsessive. I hold parties every year, though I didn't when I went to Düsseldorf in 2011 (hence the flag), and enjoy laughing and cringing at some of the really outrageous songs and outfits that appear year in, year out.

Other things I love include my MP3 player, quoting random lines from TV shows and songs, sunny weather, AZ Alkmaar, Michael Jackson (sob-sob), my music collection (especially my rock music and music in other languages) and my friends.

Things I dislike include tabloid newspapers, inappropriate football chants, discrimination, Justin Bieber, Jedward (damn those two for invading Eurovision two years in a row) and crap TV shows and films such as The X Factor and Twilight.

If you'd like to know more, just comment here or follow me on Twitter. WARNING: My tweets include Eurovision stuff, rants about various sports teams, lame jokes and incidents of me being a pleb (see photo above).

And that's it! BYE-EE!
